Who We Are

Dr. Xufeng Xu

My research focuses on understanding and modulating complex biomolecuar assembly both in vitro and in cells. Our goal is to control intracellular aberrant biomolecular assemblies to develop strategies for targeting neurodegenerative diseases and to design tailor-made, functional biomolecular-based materials.

Nehir Erol

I am currently at the final year of my Molecular Chemistry licence at the University of Strasbourg. My research here focuses on understanding how specific amino acids influence the formation of stress granules under different stress conditions. Using HeLa cells as a model system, I investigate the assembly of these protein condensates in relation to neurodegenerative diseases.

Annik Sehrer

I am originally from Germany and came to France to do my Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Chemistry at the University of Strasbourg. I just finished my third and final year and am now doing an internship in the Chemistry of Biomolecular Assembly Lab. My research project focuses on synthesising a diverse library of peptides, using the split and pool method, with the goal of discovering peptides that inhibit protein aggregation related to neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s.
